Abstract

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidant activity have been involved in pathogenesis of periodontitis and investigated by many studies. Nitric oxide (No) one of ROS plays important role in increase pathogenesis of periodontal disease. Tetracycline derivatives like doxycycline is considered a ROS scavenger. It works as antioxidant, lessen oxidative stress and improve NO
bioavailability.
